Since the Egyptian period man has been knowing the
warmth and steam baths wellness effects, the Turkish Bath
is therefore born and its name comes from steam baths
Eastern tradition, a real ritual of body cleansing.
Even during ancient Greek period it was ordinary for
athletes making a steam bath after training and frictioning
body by oils in order to clean skin deeply.
This ritual was exported by Turkish and Arab people who
left a tradition and culture trace during their passage by
building beautiful hammams (see the beautiful Spanish
hammams); though only during Roman period thermal
baths become a meeting place for everybody from lowest
classes to highest ones (do not forget that according to British
people Turkish Bath is known as “Roman bath”). At us
Turkish Bath has been discovered again since a decade and
it is mostly frequented for wellness, relax and meeting.
